Bar activities: Since 2005, Jina has made significant contributions to the El Paso County Bar Association, the legal profession and the community. Beginning in 2010, Jina served a 2-year term as a trustee for the El Paso County Bar Association. In 2010, Jina was one of the Strategic Planning Force Committee members who decided the future of our Association and made sure its vision was carried out. Jina has been a member of the Lawyer Referral Services since 2005. In 2006, Jina revived the New Lawyers Section and remained its chair for four years. During her chairship of the New Lawyers Section, Jina was instrumental in the ABA state membership. She spoke to DU students about the 2008/2009 market challenges and how to survive those as a recent law school graduate and a new lawyer. Jina has been the New Members/Swearing-In chair since 2008. Jina has been very involved in the Ben S. Wendelken Inn of Court, and a Board member of the Inn since 2008. For a year, Jina also sat on the American Inns of Court Program Awards Committee (2012-2013). From 2008 until 2010, Jina was a member of the Legal Aid Foundation Committee. Jina is currently finishing her second 3-year term as a Board member of the El Paso County Bar Foundation.
Community activities: Jina has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Ask-a-Lawyer, the Colorado fires hot-line and legal clinics, and the seniors’ fair(s). She has organized and participated in several community fundraising events, including, but not limited to a Christmas for Children in February, Wine Tasting fund-raisers, and several donor drives (most recently, for bone marrow registries). Jina has overseen a community (El Paso County and Teller County) grants program specifically tailored to non-profits who promote the education, knowledge and awareness of the law, improve the administration of justice, and assist in providing legal services to those who cannot afford them. Jina has also been involved, and as of a year or so ago, oversees a scholarship program for students attending DU and CU, Colorado. Jina is a graduate of COBALT.
