- Executive Director: Kristi Dorr Gilkes
Inspired by the charitable and community work of the El Paso County Bar Foundation, the Justice Center seeks to promote justice and education by funding and promoting innovation in legal services, enhancing access to justice for the under-served, and supporting the public interest activities of the El Paso County Bar Association.
With the formation of the “Justice Center,” members of the Bar Association and citizens of our community will have opportunities to assist in helping those in need using charitable donations to further these efforts. The Bar Association has long been in need of itʼs own 501(C)(3) entity to receive tax-deductible contributions. The Bar Association has an exemplary history of active community involvement, through our Call-A-Lawyer and Ask-A-Lawyer programs, and most recently with tree planting in Waldo Canyon and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. The Justice Center seeks to add new outreach programs and volunteering opportunities and has set a goal of obtaining 100 percent bar membership involvement. Perhaps your involvement will be time, talent or financial support or a combination thereof.
We encourage your suggestions on future projects, needs for the community and anything to further support our outreach and enhance our Bar Associations’ standing in the community. You can contact the Justice Center through the Association website (www.elpasocountybar.org) or by telephone at 719-473-9700, or E-mail me with your thoughts or comments at: email@example.com.
We are fortunate to be members of a great profession and a strong Bar Association, and we look forward to enhancing our long standing commitment to community involvement.
Paul Haller is a partner at Weddell & Haller PC, president of the Justice Center of the El Paso County Bar Association Board of Directors and a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Board of Governors.
