Judicially Speaking

The judges of the Fourth Judicial District (El Paso and Teller Counties, Colorado) have created a program known as Judicially Speaking. Judicially Speaking is a nonpartisan, public education program designed to inform students about the role of the judiciary in the American legal system.

Judicially Speaking is not a traditional passive lecture by a visiting speaker. Instead, this is a highly interactive program in which the students are guided through the task of being a judge by a local judge—the students do most of the talking. The program was designed under the guidance of teachers and students from Doherty and Sand Creek High Schools. Judicially Speaking is available to all high schools in the Fourth Judicial District (El Paso and Teller Counties).

Visits with other audiences may be arranged by special appointment.
