The Sexual Abuse Attorney (College Advocate) will primarily provide direct legal assistance to clients both in the form of providing legal advice as well as representing clients in court and higher education institution proceedings as appropriate. The position will also advocate to higher education institution personnel in the Pikes Peak Region. The position advise and support other TESSA staff on legal matters especially related to higher education proceedings and Title IX issues. Additionally, the position will liaison with appropriate higher education administrators and faculty to advocate for the integration of best practices into higher ed policy and proceedings.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Attorney in good standing with at least two years legal experience and license to practice in Colorado required.
- Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault issues and experience working with victims preferred.
- Courtroom experience preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or ASL preferred.
