: Is currently a 6 attorney Law firm looking to expand.  The firm is civil litigation firm with practice areas including: civil litigation; construction law; contract law; transaction law; estate planning; probate & guardianship law; real estate law; landlord tenant law; and juvenile law.  Founded in 2019 as a three-attorney firm, Bufkin & Schneider has doubled in size in the past four years and is continuing to grow.

Essential Duties: The Associate attorney will be provided with cases and clients and will be expected to manage their own case load. This includes legal analysis on the cases, communication with the clients, advising the clients, and representing the clients both in written and oral advocacy in court and other proceedings.  The Associate attorney will work with other attorneys in the firm as co-counsel on litigation cases and will carry their own case load that they manage.  The Associate will have to go to court, litigate their matters, conduct mediations, manage settlements, conduct discovery, drafting contracts, drafting estates, and whatever other legal work the clients may need.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated Colorado licensed attorney who is looking for a long-term position to do litigation work in Colorado.  The management style in the firm is a hands-off mentoring, meaning that the associate will have support from the partners and other attorneys in the firm but will be expected to analyze and manage their own case load without micromanagement.  The associate must be willing to dive into new or unfamiliar areas of law (with the support of the partners and the firm) and be willing to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support to clients and assist attorneys;
  • Maintain client relationships;
  • Prepare legal reports and documents;
  • Draft letters, pleadings, and motions; and
  • Advocate and litigate for the client in court.

Qualifications:

  • Colorado Bar License;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Self-starter; and
  • Good writing and language skills.

Compensation: The Associate attorney can expect to earn between $75,000 and $120,000 per year depending on experience, training, and motivation.  The firm also offers health insurance, covers full malpractice insurance, covers CLE requirements, covers bar licensing, covers parking, offers flexible time schedules, and offers direct training and mentoring.
