Be Part of the Next Social Justice Movement as a Family Defense Attorney through the Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel!
The ORPC is an independent agency under the Judicial Branch that is vested with the oversight and administration of Respondent Parent Counsel attorneys who represent indigent parents in dependency and neglect cases. We believe that well trained lawyers play a critical role in achieving positive outcomes for families in child welfare cases by protecting parent’s due process and statutory rights, presenting balanced information to courts, and by promoting the preservation of family relationships.
Join the ORPC for a meet and greet to learn about the role of a Respondent Parent Counsel Attorney, practice supports and resources available through the ORPC, and the steps to submit an application to become a family defense attorney. We are hosting a FREE lunch CLE on Aug 8th from 12:00-1:30pm at the El Paso County Courthouse. Please see the attached flyer for more information and please register by emailing the ORPC Executive Director, Melissa Thompson, at mthompson@coloradoorpc.org.
