This is a training on incorporating modern representation into a lawyer’s practice. Participants will be introduced to the guiding principles of modern representation, specifically the profound impact it can have on access to justice and attorney well-being.
Program participants will learn:
- 4 pillars of modern representation;
- how to find and educate clients;
- how to budget pricing, set fees, and draft appropriate fee agreements;
- alternate office arrangements;
- technological necessities for modern representation; and
- tip, tricks, and challenges associated with modern representation.
Attendees should leave the program armed with the basic knowledge and tools needed to immediately integrate modern representation into their practices and revolutionize the effectiveness of the legal profession.
Lauren Lester, practices family law with her modern law firm of Lester Law, LLC. She is the current Chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Modern Law Practice Initiative and a member of the Professionalism Coordination Council.
Erika Holmes is the founder of ELHolmes Legal Solutions, LLC – a modern law practice focusing on family law and attorney ethics and regulation. Erika authored the article “Modern Representation: A Win-Win for Clients and Lawyers” as part of the Access to Justice Series in the Colorado Lawyer (March 2017).
