CLE: 1 General & .3 Ethics Credit Approved
CLE Discussion: Mr. Barr will speak about the Consumer Data Security, Protection Disposal Law which became effective on September 30, 2018 for all covered entities, which includes law firms, and requires written plans for the Security, Protection and Disposal of the Personal Identifying Information of Colorado Consumers. Clients of Lawyers are covered, thus each law firm must have a written plan. The 3 statutory sections will be discussed in detail with suggestions as what is necessary to comply with the law. The new requirements for governmental agencies will not be addressed. The ethical requirement of Confidentiality of Client Information will be discussed as well as Cyber Insurance protection.
Speaker: Steve Barr graduated from the University of Wyoming School of Law in 1970. He served four years with the Army JAG Corps, then with the Fourth Judicial District
Attorney 's Office, private practice for twenty-three years and the last eighteen years as the general counsel of a commercial construction company. In the past, he has also instructed paralegal courses at Pikes Peak Community College and law related courses at the Pikes Peak Law Enforcement Academy.

Orders may be placed after 3 business days and food may be ordered at the event, though late orders will be served after pre-orders. "No-shows" will still be charged for their meal if not cancelled on time.
