Nuts and Bolts of Mediation

CLE: 1 General

Presented by:

Evelyn H. Sullivan, JD

Magistrate Judge (RET)

CLR, Mediator, Arbiter

Applying the Kolb Adult Learning Model, learners will engage in a one hour long interactive training which will assist learners in understanding the different approaches or types of Mediation currently available to individuals wishing to engage in Alternative Dispute Resolution methodologies. The training will broaden learner’s perspectives about what constitutes a Mediation proceeding, how the differing approaches may or may not be valuable to their situation and how to determine which approach would best benefit their situation. Learners will also understand the current issues affecting Attorney Mediators as they pertain to Rule 2.1. Learners will be encouraged to continue their learning experience by being provided some general “next-steps,” they can take. In addition, the need for multidisciplinary approaches between attorneys and mental health professionals will be emphasized in expanding the use of Mediation as well as expanding the practical experiences of Mediation via Zoom and other video platforms.

Please email Retired Magistrate Judge Sullivan directly as evelynhsullivan@gmail.com if you have food allergies by January 7, 2022 so we can arrange accommodations with the venue.
