Job Description

I. Position Identification

a. Position Title: Paralegal

b. Reports To: Jacqueline Lentini

c. Work Hours: Full-time, Hybrid

d. Work Days: Monday-Friday during business hours

e. Pay Range: $25-35 per hour based on experience

f. Benefits: Health and Vision Insurance, and PTO offered.

II. Purpose of Position

a. To support attorney in all areas of a busy legal practice including, but not limited to: immigration case work, administrative and legal assistant work (see below for further detailed information).

III. Responsibilities

a. Assist attorney in preparation of immigrant and nonimmigrant visa petitions;

b. Draft, review, and prepare legal documents for visa types such as E-1, E-2, E-3, H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, I-140, PERM Labor Certification (ETA-9089), AOS (Adjustment of Status), N-400 Naturalization filings, and family-based Adjustment of Status filings;

c. Manage a caseload of visa matters utilizing case management software;

d. Communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues;

e. Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing and RFE Responses;

f. Draft petitions, applications, and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification;

g. Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of visa petitions;

h. Conduct legal research on immigration regulations and procedures;

i. Review and approve client billing under supervision of partner or attorney;

j. Work closely in team environment, while building knowledge of firm and client processes; and

k. Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the firm’s workflow.

IV. Requirements

a. Bachelors degree (or equivalent);

b. Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional immigration environment;

c. Demonstrated client service focus; and

d. Excellent oral, writing, research, organizational, and proofreading skills.
